Principles of UPhA

Organizational Excellence

The Utah Pharmacy Association practices the Principle of Organizational Excellence, by being transparent to its members in its management, defined and strong in its purpose and mission, and educated and informed on the laws governing the profession. Above all, the Association is an example of exceptional business practices and creating strategic alliances that elevate the profession.

Advocacy

The Utah Pharmacy Association understands that protection of the profession is paramount in the mission of the organization. This means that the Association must be an advocate for the profession and a resource of education for all, this includes: legislators, through appropriate lobbying; professionals, through providing continuing education opportunities; and the public through appropriate marketing.

Education 

The Utah Pharmacy Association seeks to be THE RESOURCE of education for all the relevant parties in the state. This includes the pharmacists in our profession, the technicians, students, and organizations or individuals that need to be educated regarding our profession. The Association also seeks to maintain the high standards of education that exist, as well as be an integral part of the innovations in education in the future.

Member Support

 The Utah Pharmacy Association is a support to all its member classifications. These include the pharmacists, technicians, and students in the profession.

• Pharmacists - The Association provides support to the pharmacists by providing education, networking and information opportunities. It also provides business improvement opportunities and practical and professional support. This creates an opportunity to improve the actual member experience through appropriate focus on Commitment, Community, and Content.

• Technicians and Students - The Association provides technicians and students with opportunities for self improvement, networking, scholarships, recognition, mentorship, strategic partnerships and alliances.

Promotion 

The Utah Pharmacy Association is a vehicle for promotion of the profession. The Association will promote the value of Pharmacists throughout the state. The intent is to change or maintain the perception of the profession in the minds of relevant parties throughout the state.
