Top executives of the “big three” PBMs were called to testify at a July 23 hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Take some time and use our hearing recording link to see why NACDS RxIMPACT received almost 300 emails from advocates sharing their opinions about the hearing and why watching it was so valuable to them.
That same day, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee released a report which described the Committee’s “findings that PBMs inflate prescription drug costs and interfere with patient care for their own financial benefit.” Read highlights and or the full Committee report.
Seven pharmacy groups alongside NACDS sent a pre-hearing PBM reform message to the Committee: National Community Pharmacists Association, American Pharmacists Association, National Association of Specialty Pharmacy, FMI – The Food Industry Association, National Grocers Association, National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations, and Independent Pharmacy Cooperative.
