Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration launched new animated Remove the Riskpublic service announcements (PSAs), available in English and Spanish, on safe opioid disposal. These PSAs supplement a suite of free digital resources—PSAs, social media images and posts, fact sheets, and more—designed to help groups speak with others
about safe opioid disposal. Safe disposal of prescription drugs such as opioids remains a challenging topic for industry, health professionals and patients alike. As we continue to spend more time at home, it’s more important than ever to encourage community
members to safely dispose of expired or unused prescription pain medicines from their homes. Education about safe drug disposal can reduce the chance of accidental or intentional ingestion and save lives.
