Mark B. Steinagel, Director of DOPL, recently issued a clarification letter regarding the dispensing of prescription drugs in emergency departments. The letter is a clarification of S.B. 158 that was passed during the 2015 legislative session that allowed for such dispensing. The required guidelines are established in Section R156-17b-610.5.
