Earlier this year Derek Christensen, a pharmacist and UPhA Member was presented the prestigious BSA Silver Beaver Award. The award is presented only by nomination and review and is only considered for those that provide hours of service to scouting over numerous years as a youth leader.
Derek G. Christensen is foremost a husband to Jan, father, and grandfather. He has been a Scouter for 25 years, having served in the Cub Scouts, Venturing, and Boy Scout families. He has taught the young men under his stewardship love of God, country, and their fellow man through his enthusiasm and example. Derek served as an officer in the Army Reserve and is a veteran of Desert Storm. He has served his community as a pharmacist for over 30 years. Derek is active in training other Scouters on district and council levels. He is currently Scoutmaster for Troop 1968.
