IACP Member Alert
December 10, 2015

The IACP Board of Directors is today announcing that our Executive Vice President David G. Miller will be leaving the Academy at the end of the year.
“I am very proud of the accomplishments which I and the IACP staff have achieved over the course of the past five and a half years. During my time with the Academy, we established IACPAdvanCE to provide continuing education programs, implemented our multi-organizational Educational Conference which grows each year, expanded and grew our participation in and corporate support of our annual meeting,” said Miller. “Even during the extremely difficult times during and after the NECC crisis, IACP was still able to focus on delivering value and new services to our members while increasing its visibility within the pharmacy community as a source of expertise and knowledge about the incredible value and importance of compounded pharmacists to the patients and prescribers for whom we all care. To have played a role in that is immensely gratifying, not only for those specific achievements but more for the opportunity to have worked with such passionate and committed individuals on IACP’s Board, its committees, and its Foundation.”
“Our battle to preserve compounding is far from over,” he said. “The very core of compounding – providing personalized medication therapy to patients – is threatened by the ongoing attempts of the FDA to control the professional decision making of health care providers including we pharmacists. IACP’s role in the future, just as it has been for the past 25 years, will be even more important. I know as I start the next phase of my career that the Academy is strong, willing and able to win that battle which we have all fought so passionately these past few years,” Miller added.
IACP President and incoming Chairman of the Board Dale Coker said, "On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the way David has represented IACP during some very difficult challenges our members have faced over the past few years. We have created an Executive Search Committee and implemented a transition process that will smoothly segue from his leadership role into a new Executive Vice President. While it is always difficult to lose a key staff member, thanks to our Board’s commitment and our volunteers, we are fully confident that this transition will occur with no change in the level of high-quality service that IACP members expect from their investment in the Academy. We’ll be making a formal request for candidates and an announcement of our process very shortly."
